Donbas Arena is a large football stadium in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, that opened in 2009 and served as the home ground of FC Shakhtar Donetsk. It was built as a modern multi-purpose stadium with seating, hospitality suites and media facilities.
The stadium hosted domestic and international club matches until 2014, when the conflict in eastern Ukraine forced Shakhtar Donetsk to relocate its home matches and the stadium ceased regular top-level sporting use. The facility includes tiered seating, player and media facilities and associated support infrastructure.
Donbas Arena is located in the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine and was part of the city’s modern sports infrastructure prior to the disruption of events and club operations after 2014.
