Most international travelers arrive via Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM), Dominica’s major airport and the main scheduled gateway on the northeast coast. It sits by Marigot, Dominica and is about an hour’s drive from Roseau, the compact capital and common base for trips to Morne Trois Pitons National Park and the Boiling Lake. The country can also be reached by ferry from Guadeloupe or Martinique.
Canefield Airport (DCF) is the other airport with scheduled commercial service and is often the more convenient airfield for Roseau & Southwest sights such as Trafalgar Falls, Pointe Michel, and Mahaut, Dominica. With just a small set of airports overall, flying tends to complement overland travel on Dominica’s winding roads, with access by road linking arrivals at DOM or DCF to places like Portsmouth, Dominica, Cabrits National Park, and east-coast villages including Castle Bruce and Rosalie, Dominica.
