Dolmabahçe Mosque (Bezm-i Alem Valide Sultan Mosque) is an Ottoman-era mosque on the European shore of the Bosphorus in Istanbul, located beside Dolmabahçe Palace. It was commissioned in the mid-19th century and represents late Ottoman imperial mosque architecture.
The mosque complex includes a main prayer hall, a courtyard and one or more minarets, and it faces the Bosphorus waterfront. Architectural features reflect 19th-century Ottoman styles and the building is part of the palace precinct’s ensemble.
Constructed during the reigns of Ottoman sultans who commissioned the adjacent palace, the mosque served the imperial household and the palace district; it has been maintained and restored as part of the historic waterfront ensemble.
The mosque stands in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul on the European side of the Bosphorus, immediately west of the Bosphorus Bridge and within walking distance of other waterfront landmarks and ferry piers.
