The Dolmabahçe Clock Tower is a late Ottoman clock tower located on the Beşiktaş waterfront directly in front of Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul. It dates to the late 19th century and forms a prominent vertical feature beside the palace entrance.
Erected during the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II as part of late Ottoman building projects at Dolmabahçe, the tower was intended both as a practical public clock and as an architectural complement to the palace ensemble. It has been restored periodically as part of wider conservation of the Dolmabahçe complex.
The tower stands adjacent to Dolmabahçe Palace on the European shore of the Bosphorus in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, close to ferry piers and road links across the city.
- Location and height: Rises approximately 27 metres and stands just outside the main entrance to Dolmabahçe Palace on the Beşiktaş waterfront in Istanbul.
- Architectural context: Built under the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II and designed by architects of the imperial court, it reflects late Ottoman eclectic architectural style.
