Doldenhorn is a mountain in the Bernese Alps in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, rising to about 3,638 metres and forming part of a rugged alpine ridge above the Kander valley. The peak has prominent faces and is a recognised objective for mountaineers.

Alpine routes to the summit require glacier travel and mountaineering skills; the mountain is approached from the Kandersteg area and surrounding valleys. From the summit there are expansive views across the Bernese Alps and over nearby features such as Lake Oeschinen and the Kander valley.

The Doldenhorn massif is typical high-alpine terrain with rock and ice sections; it is frequented by climbers rather than casual hikers and is part of the broader Bernese high mountain landscape.

Geographically it stands above Kandersteg in the canton of Bern and is accessible from that town and its mountain huts and routes into the surrounding peaks.

Local PostBus services operate in the valley and trailheads require several kilometres of walking or a mountain approach depending on the chosen route.

• Aim for the high-summer window (typically July-September) when most normal routes are likely to be snow-free and rock conditions are firmer.
• Start very early in the day to minimise exposure to common alpine afternoon storms and to have calmer conditions on ridges and glacier sections.
