The park’s landscape is characterised by steep karst peaks, deep valleys and montane woodlands, with established routes for hiking and local outdoor activities. Higher ridges provide extensive views across the Tell Atlas.

Conservation in the park focuses on protecting mountain ecosystems, native trees and traditional land uses while providing managed public access for recreation and nature appreciation.

The park lies in northern Algeria within Tizi Ouzou Province in the Kabylie region, occupying upland terrain of the Tell Atlas range not far from the Mediterranean coast.
