Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium

Darrell K RoyalTexas Memorial Stadium is the primary American football stadium on the University of Texas at Austin campus and the home of the Texas Longhorns. The facility originally opened in 1924 as a memorial stadium.

On game days it functions as a large-capacity collegiate venue hosting NCAA football and occasional large events, with seating for just over 100,000 spectators. The stadium’s name was extended to honor longtime coach Darrell K Royal while retaining its status as a memorial stadium.

The stadium was built in the early 20th century as a war memorial and has undergone multiple expansions and renovations since opening to accommodate growing crowds and modern facilities.

It is located on the University of Texas at Austin campus, a short distance north of downtown Austin.
