Danjiangkou Shuiku

Danjiangkou Shuiku is the Danjiangkou Reservoir, a large artificial reservoir on the Han River in central China formed by the Danjiangkou Dam. It serves as a major water storage and regulation facility for the surrounding region.

The Danjiangkou Dam and reservoir were constructed in the mid-20th century; the dam and reservoir system were later raised and upgraded in the 2000s to increase storage capacity and to supply the South-to-North Water Transfer project.

The reservoir sits on the Han River in central China, straddling the provinces of Hubei and Henan near the city of Danjiangkou, and is a major hydrological feature of the region.
