The Coco Islands are a small archipelago in the northeastern Bay of Bengal / Andaman Sea administered by Myanmar, made up mainly of two islands often referred to as Great Coco and Little Coco. They are remote and sparsely populated with limited infrastructure.

The islands have been known to mariners for centuries and were administered by colonial powers in the 19th and 20th centuries before coming under Myanmar’s control. They have had only limited civilian development and are not a mainstream tourist destination.

The Coco Islands lie in the Andaman Sea north of the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago and west of the coast of Myanmar, well offshore from Myanmar’s mainland and reachable only by private or authorised vessels.
