The City of San Marino is reached overland from nearby Italian hubs. The nearest airport is Federico Fellini (Rimini/Miramare, RMI); Bologna (BLQ) is the next-best international option. Most visitors arrive via Rimini's railway station and a short bus or taxi up into the republic.

By Air

Federico Fellini International Airport (RMI, Rimini/Miramare): The closest airport to San Marino. There are regular bus shuttles and regional buses from Rimini (and the airport area) up to the City of San Marino; the road transfer takes roughly 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Taxis and private transfers are faster and take about 25-35 minutes.

Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ): A larger international option with more connections. From Bologna you can take a train to Rimini (see Train below) and then a bus up to San Marino; total travel time is usually 1.5-2 hours depending on connections.

By Train & Bus
