By Air

Carrasco/Montevideo (MVD): Montevideo is the main international airport for reaching Chuy; from MVD the drive is roughly 4-4.5 hours to Chuy on well‑maintained highways. Car rental or long‑distance bus are the normal onward options. Taxis for the whole distance are uncommon and costly.

Pelotas (Brazil) / Regional airports: Southern Brazilian airports (e.g., Pelotas) can be closer depending on cross‑border routing; travelers sometimes combine flights into Brazilian hubs and cross at the border by road. Scheduled commercial flights directly to Chuy are not available.

By Train & Bus

Train: There are no regular long‑distance passenger trains serving Chuy.

Bus: Intercity buses connect Montevideo and other Uruguayan cities with Chuy; travel time from Montevideo is around 4-5 hours. Cross‑border bus services also run between Chuy (UY) and Chuí (BR); fares are modest and depend on operator.
