The Church of Saint Ildefonso (Igreja de Santo Ildefonso) is an 18th-century Baroque church in central Porto, Portugal, located on Praça da Batalha. It is notable for its twin towers and a large azulejo tile facade applied to the exterior in the 20th century.
The interior follows Baroque conventions with a single nave and ornamental detailing, while the exterior is dominated by the extensive blue-and-white tile panels by Jorge Colaço which illustrate religious scenes and decorative motifs.
Construction of the church took place in the 18th century and it has served as a parish church since that time; the tile cladding was added in the 20th century and has become a defining visual feature.
The church stands on Praça da Batalha in Porto’s central district, a short walk from other city landmarks and major pedestrian streets.
