How to Get to Christiansted, U.S. Virgin Islands#
Christiansted is most conveniently reached via Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX) on Saint Croix; from the airport short taxi rides or rental cars bring you into town quickly. There is no rail service-buses, shared vans and taxis are the primary public transport.
Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX): This is the main airport on Saint Croix and the closest airport to Christiansted (about 10-15 minutes by car). Taxis from STX to Christiansted are commonly available; fares are typically around US$10-20 and the drive is short (10-15 min). Car rentals are also available at the airport.
Connections via St Thomas / St John: If arriving to the U.S. Virgin Islands via St Thomas (STT) you can connect on regional flights or ferries, but for Christiansted the most direct air link is STX.
Train: There is no rail network on Saint Croix.
Bus / Taxi: Public buses (shared taxis/route taxis known locally as ‘dollar vans’) and regular taxis operate on the island.
