Best Time to Visit Chiroqchi#
Chiroqchi has a continental climate with cold winters and very hot summers typical of inland Uzbekistan. Late spring and early autumn are the most comfortable times to visit.

How to Get to Chiroqchi#
Chiroqchi (Chiroqchi) is a town in Uzbekistan’s Qashqadaryo Region. The nearest major rail/air hubs are Qarshi and Tashkent; most travellers reach Chiroqchi by train or bus to Qarshi and a short onward road transfer.
Shahrisabz / Qarshi regional airports (limited) / Tashkent (TAS): Chiroqchi is in Qashqadaryo Region and the most practical international gateway is Tashkent International Airport (TAS), or domestic connections via Qarshi/Shahrisabz when available. From Tashkent or Qarshi area you continue by road to Chiroqchi; a private taxi from Qarshi takes around 1-2 hours depending on route.
Domestic flights: Scheduled domestic services to small regional airstrips are limited; overland travel is the usual onward option for Chiroqchi.
Train: Uzbekistan’s rail network serves Qarshi and surrounding towns in Qashqadaryo; travellers typically take a train to Qarshi station and continue by road to Chiroqchi (local station names vary). Trains to Qarshi from Tashkent take several hours; onward road transfers to Chiroqchi are roughly 30-90 minutes depending on exact origin.
Bus / Marshrutka: Marshrutkas and regional buses run between Qarshi and district towns like Chiroqchi; these are frequent and affordable, with travel times in the 30-90 minute range and low fares (a few thousand to tens of thousands UZS).
How to Get Around Chiroqchi#
Chiroqchi is conveniently reached by combining Uzbekistan’s rail network to Qarshi with a short road transfer, or directly by marshrutka from nearby towns. Within Chiroqchi, marshrutkas, taxis and walking cover most local travel.
- Marshrutka / Minibus (~5,000-20,000 UZS) - Marshrutkas run frequently between Qarshi and Chiroqchi and are the cheapest way to travel locally. They depart from bus hubs and fill quickly; carry small change and be prepared for crowded conditions at peak times.
- Regional train (to Qarshi) + taxi (Train ~10,000-40,000 UZS; taxi ~30,000-100,000 UZS (Qarshi to Chiroqchi)) - Take a train to Qarshi and then a taxi for the last leg to Chiroqchi - this is comfortable for longer distances and reliable for schedules. Trains are low‑cost and taxis provide flexible onward connections.
- Taxi / Private transfer (~30,000-150,000 UZS depending on origin) - Private taxis are widely used for direct point‑to‑point travel and are the fastest way from regional airports or railheads. Agree a price beforehand or use a registered service.
- Car hire (~120,000-300,000 UZS/day) - Hiring a car is useful for visiting rural areas around Chiroqchi and gives flexibility for itinerary changes. Roads on main routes are generally in good condition, but secondary roads may be rough.
- Bicycle / Motorbike (Varies) - For short local trips, bicycles and motorbikes are common and economical. They’re practical in fair weather but less suited to longer intercity journeys.
- Walking - Chiroqchi’s centre is compact and easy to explore on foot; markets and civic buildings are typically within walking distance of each other.
