The Children’s Peace Monument in Hiroshima is a memorial within Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park dedicated to child victims of the 1945 atomic bombing, especially Sadako Sasaki.

The monument features a bronze statue of a young girl holding an origami crane and is surrounded by thousands of folded paper cranes sent from around the world. It serves as a focal point for peace education and for annual observances on the bombing’s anniversary.

Erected in the postwar decades as part of Hiroshima’s memorial landscape, the monument commemorates the lives of children lost to the bomb and promotes a message of peace and nuclear disarmament.

The monument stands in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park near the A-Bomb Dome, in the city of Hiroshima on Honshu island.

You can also walk or cycle from JR Hiroshima Station along the river to the park (about 20-25 minutes on foot).
