Parque Nacional del Chicamocha, commonly known as Chicamocha National Park or Panachi, is a protected park and tourist complex in Santander Department, Colombia, overlooking the Chicamocha Canyon. It is one of the main visitor attractions in the region linking natural canyon scenery with visitor facilities.

The park provides extensive panoramic viewpoints across the Chicamocha Canyon and access to rim terraces that look down onto the gorge and river. A cable car crosses the canyon and connects visitor areas on opposite rims, offering elevated views across several kilometres. The site also contains visitor amenities such as walking paths, lookouts, and exhibition spaces focused on the canyon landscape.

The area is centered on the Chicamocha Canyon, a geological feature carved by the Chicamocha River over millions of years; the park and associated visitor facilities were developed in the late 20th and early 21st centuries to promote tourism and regional access to the canyon. Management has focused on combining landscape protection with infrastructure to support sightseeing and recreational activities.

The park sits on the rim of the Chicamocha Canyon in Santander Department, eastern Colombia, northwest of the regional city of Bucaramanga. The landscape is steep canyon terrain with arid to semi-arid slopes descending to the river valley below.

  • Name note: Sits on the rim of the Chicamocha Canyon and is commonly referred to by its commercial name Panachi.
  • Photography tip: Best light for photography is in late afternoon when the canyon relief is most pronounced.
