Champ de Mars is a large public greenspace in Paris located between the École Militaire and the Eiffel Tower on the city’s Left Bank. It is a long rectangular park of lawns, tree avenues and paths that has served as a public promenade and event ground since the 18th century.

The site’s principal attraction is the framed view toward the Eiffel Tower from its lawns, making it a primary spot for photography and gatherings. The park is also used for large public events, temporary exhibitions and festivals and provides open recreational space in a densely built part of the city.

Historically the area was laid out in the late 18th century as a drill ground and parade field for the École Militaire; over time it evolved into a public park with formal planting and promenades. It remains centrally located in Paris and is served by multiple metro and RER stations, providing easy pedestrian access.

The park is easily reached on foot from the Seine and nearby bus routes; if driving, use the roads around the 7th arrondissement and expect limited parking.
