Chambi National Park protects the area around Jebel Chambi, Tunisia’s highest mountain, which reaches 1,544 metres above sea level. The park conserves mountain habitats and forested slopes in western Tunisia.
Hikers use marked routes to reach viewpoints on Jebel Chambi and to traverse forested slopes that host Mediterranean mountain flora. The park offers panoramic views across the surrounding ranges and valleys.
The area has been set aside for conservation to protect its endemic vegetation and mountain ecosystems and to provide managed access for recreation. The mountain has long been a reference point in regional geography.
Chambi National Park is in Kasserine Governorate in west-central Tunisia, near the town of Kasserine and close to the border with Algeria.
