The Central Bohemian Uplands (České středohoří) are a compact volcanic mountain range in northern Bohemia, Czech Republic, characterised by numerous cone-shaped hills and basalt formations. The highest peak, Milešovka, reaches 837 metres.
The area is valued for hiking, scenic viewpoints and distinctive volcanic geomorphology - steep ridges, isolated cones and cliff faces are common. Trails and minor roads link small towns and lookouts across the uplands.
The landscape was produced by Tertiary volcanic activity; erosion has left the harder volcanic cores as isolated hills and cliffs. Human use has long combined agriculture, vine terraces in some valley locations, and small settlements.
The uplands lie north of Prague, extending around the Elbe valley near towns such as Litoměřice and Ústí nad Labem, forming a compact highland visible from surrounding lowlands.
