How to Get to Cayon
Cayon is a town on the northeast coast of St Kitts reachable by road from Basseterre; most visitors arrive via Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) and continue by taxi, shared minibus or rental car. Inter-island travelers will connect via ferry from Nevis.
Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport (SKB): The main international gateway for St Kitts, located a short drive from Basseterre. From SKB, Cayon is reachable by taxi or rental car - travel time is roughly 15-25 minutes depending on traffic and route; taxis and car hire are available at the airport.
Vance W. Amory International Airport (NEV): NEV serves Nevis; if you arrive on Nevis first you can take the ferry to St Kitts and then a taxi from Basseterre to Cayon (see By Train & Bus).
Road (Shared minibuses / taxis): Cayon is served by St Kitts’ network of privately operated minibuses and taxis that run between Basseterre and northern towns. These shared vehicles operate on set routes and stop on request; schedules are informal and fares are low.
Ferry (if coming via Nevis): If arriving on Nevis, take a ferry to Basseterre then continue by road to Cayon (roughly 20-30 minutes from Basseterre by car).
How to Get Around Cayon #
Cayon is a small parish town where walking will get you around the village center. For trips to other parts of Saint Kitts you’ll usually rely on the island’s minibuses or taxis; services can be infrequent so check times in advance.
