Cathedral of Saint Andrew

The Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Patras is a large Greek Orthodox basilica built in the 20th century in a Neo-Byzantine style, and it is the principal church of Patras. It is especially known for housing the relics of Saint Andrew the Apostle.

The church complex includes an expansive nave, side chapels and a crypt where the reliquary of Saint Andrew is kept; the building is one of the largest churches in Greece and attracts both worshippers and visitors.

Construction and finishing works took place through the 20th century, and the cathedral was completed and consecrated in the later part of that century. It functions as a major liturgical centre and pilgrimage site for the region.
