The Castle of Púbol (Castell de Púbol) is a fortified manor in Catalonia that was purchased and restored by Salvador Dalí as a private house-museum for his wife Gala. The property is part of the Dalí-managed house-museum network in the region.
Interiors show Gala’s preserved apartments, decorative interventions by Dalí and a small chapel, all presented as a domestic museum rather than a conventional historic castle museum. The castle’s intimate gardens and surrounding rural landscape create a quiet setting distinct from Dalí’s more theatrical museums. Exhibition rooms display personal items, commissioned works and Dalí’s restorations carried out when he acquired the property.
Dalí acquired the castle in 1969 and carried out restorations to adapt it for Gala’s use; Gala resided there for much of the period until her death in the early 1980s. After her death the site was opened to the public and is now managed for cultural visits and conservation of the interiors.
The castle is located in the small village of Púbol in the province of Girona, Catalonia, surrounded by agricultural land and small roads that connect it to Figueres and other Dalí sites.
