The Carse of Gowrie is a stretch of low-lying, fertile land on the north bank of the River Tay in eastern Scotland. It is known for intensive agriculture and market gardening along the Tay estuary.

The fertile soils of the Carse have supported agriculture for centuries, shaped by river flooding and reclamation. Land use has remained dominated by arable farming and fruit production.

The Carse runs along the north shore of the River Tay between the city of Perth to the west and Dundee to the east, forming a broad, low-lying corridor beside the river.

• Agricultural character: Fruit orchards and market gardens are prominent on the low-lying plain, making spring blossom and harvest seasons notable for local scenery.

The Carse of Gowrie stretches along the River Tay between the cities of Perth and Dundee. By car it is most easily reached from Perth (roughly 15 km to the west of the Carse area) or from Dundee (roughly 10-15 km to the east) using the main road corridor that links the two cities; from either city follow local A/B roads to roadside viewpoints or villages on the Carse.

Public transport: regional trains and buses serve Perth and Dundee-travel to one of those cities and continue by car or local bus to reach specific points on the Carse (walking distances within the area vary by chosen access point).
