Carrera Islet

Carrera Islet is a small islet located off the northwest coast of Trinidad in the Diego Martin region. The islet sits within the coastal waters near the northwestern peninsula of the island and is one of several small offshore features in that area.

The islet has limited development and serves primarily as a coastal landmark within local maritime and fishing waters. Access is by private boat and there are no major visitor facilities.

As a minor offshore feature, the islet has no significant built infrastructure and is managed within local maritime jurisdiction. Visits are informal and usually arranged from nearby coastal communities.

The islet lies off the northwest coast of Trinidad, within Diego Martin regional waters and relatively close to the western approach to Port of Spain.

Access requires private boat or charter from nearby harbors in Diego Martin or Port of Spain. The islet is a short coastal hop but carries no services; landing is weather-dependent.

• Boaters should be aware of local tides and currents near the islet; anchor in sheltered water and avoid approaching from the windward side.
• Respect local marine ecology - no littering, and avoid anchoring on coral beds if present.
• Because services are absent, bring water and basic safety gear; the islet is a day-visit location rather than a serviced destination.
