Coastal Littoral & Southwest Lowlands (Douala, Kribi, Limbe)
A noticeable decline in rainfall begins in November though the coast can still see showers; Douala slowly shifts toward the drier season and humidity becomes more tolerable. Kribi’s skies clear more often, opening up better swimming days and more reliable boat trips to nearby islands. This is a good time to find lower crowds and firmer roads for inland excursions, yet pack a light rain jacket for unexpected squalls.
Mount Cameroon Massif & Southwest Highlands (Buea, Mount Cameroon)
November offers steadily improving conditions: lower slopes dry out, trails firm up, and summit attempts become feasible again with proper planning. Cooler nights and reduced humidity make for pleasant daytime exploration of volcanic features and plantations on the mountain’s flanks. This is the beginning of the favored climbing season-reserve guides and accommodations early for December and January.
Western Highlands (Bamenda, Bafoussam)
November is one of the best months for visiting the western highlands: clear skies, cool temperatures, and firm trails. Local coffee farms and craft markets are active and accessible, and long walks between villages are comfortable without heavy mud. Nights are cool-bring a warm sweater-but daytime exploration is excellent for photographers and hikers.
Central Plateau & Capital Region (Yaoundé, Centre)
November is generally drier and cooler, with pleasant daytime temperatures and comfortable nights-one of the better months for visiting the capital. Trade and festival activity pick up as travel becomes easier, and roads are typically in good condition for longer drives to national parks. Lightweight layers and an evening sweater are advisable for comfortable city evenings.
Southern & Eastern Rainforest (Dja, Boumba Bek, Campo)
November is a pleasantly transitional month in many southern forest areas, with fewer heavy rains and more consistent dry windows; roads improve and lodges reopen fuller services. River depths remain moderate and forest paths firm up quickly; this is a preferred time for visiting Dja Reserve and Campo. Pack insect repellent but expect easier logistics and steadily improving access.
Adamawa Plateau & Northern Cameroon (Ngaoundéré, Garoua, Maroua)
November is dry, warm by day and pleasantly cool at night, and roads are generally in their best state for the year-ideal for visiting Waza National Park and the cultural sites around Maroua. Harmattan can begin to return late in the month but usually mild; visibility may occasionally drop with dust veils. This is a top month for combined safari and cultural itineraries in the north.
