How to Get to Čabar#
Čabar is a small mountain town in the Gorski Kotar region best reached by road from Rijeka or Zagreb. There’s no direct rail access - buses from Rijeka are the usual public-transport option.
Rijeka Airport (RJK): Rijeka (Krk) is the closest airport to Čabar; it has seasonal and limited scheduled connections. From Rijeka Airport you travel into Rijeka city (bus/taxi) and then take a regional bus to Čabar. The airport→Rijeka town transfer is around 20-40 minutes depending on connections.
Zagreb Airport (ZAG): Zagreb provides many more international connections; from Zagreb you can travel by road to Čabar (about 2-2.5 hours) or take a train/bus to Rijeka and then a regional bus onward.
Train: There is no direct rail line to Čabar; the nearest major rail hub is Rijeka railway station. Use trains to Rijeka when possible, then transfer to buses for the mountain leg.
Bus: Regional bus operators run routes from Rijeka to Čabar (journey time roughly 1-1.5 hours depending on service and road conditions). From Rijeka city centre you’ll find multiple daily buses to interior Gorski Kotar towns; fares are modest (typically a few euros).

- Train (to Rijeka) (EUR 10-30 (depends on origin)) - Use the national rail network to reach Rijeka; from there switch to the bus network for Čabar. Trains to Rijeka are a good option when coming from Zagreb or coastal towns.
