How to Get to Buckton Castle #
Buckton Castle is reached from the village of Buckton near the A56 between Bury and Rochdale. From Heywood or Bury, take minor lanes toward Unsworth; public footpaths lead from Buckton Green across farmland to the castle (allow 15-30 minutes’ walk from the nearest road). There is no dedicated car park-park considerately on the lane near the footpath entrance.

- Access is across farmland-wear boots after rain; the earth around the motte is often muddy.
- There is no visitor centre or signage; bring a detailed map or GPS (OS Explorer maps OL2/OL41 cover the area).
