Broghil Valley National Park is a remote high-altitude conservation area in northern Pakistan encompassing alpine valleys, plateaus and mountain passes. The park conserves high-mountain ecosystems and traditional pastoral landscapes.
A landscape of wide high plateaus, grassy summer pastures, scattered high-elevation lakes and steep passes leading toward the Wakhan Corridor. The area is valued for trekking, remote camping and wildlife viewing of mountain ungulates and birds.
The valley has long been used by local Wakhi and other communities for summer grazing and as a transhumant route; park designation aims to protect wildlife habitat and traditional land uses in this border region.
Broghil Valley lies in Pakistan’s far north near the international border with Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor and is accessed from valleys to the south by long mountain tracks and seasonal passes.

By road: Overland routes from Chitral are the usual path; Broghil is accessed via long mountain roads that may require 4x4 vehicles and local permits. By air: Small regional flights to Chitral exist from Islamabad or Peshawar; from Chitral the journey continues by road and is time-consuming. Visitors should arrange travel and permits through local tour operators experienced in Gilgit-Baltistan travel.
