Bosjökloster
Church Historic castle and former monastery estate
South of Lund, Bosjökloster occupies a former monastery site with gardens and a manor house; visitors tour the chapel, wander landscaped grounds and stop at the on‑site café.
Bosjökloster is a historic former nunnery and manor house in Skåne County, southern Sweden. The complex is commonly referred to as Bosjökloster Castle and has medieval origins.
The site includes a castle complex, cultivated gardens and parkland directly beside Lake Ringsjön, offering waterside views and short walks around the grounds. Indoor rooms and halls are used for exhibitions and events during the visitor season.
Originally founded as a religious house in the medieval period, the complex was secularised and converted into a private manor after the Reformation; it has been altered and rebuilt in stages since then. Ownership passed through several noble families and the buildings show layered architectural phases.
The castle sits on the southern shore of Lake Ringsjön in central Skåne, near the towns of Höör and Eslöv. It is within Skåne County and reachable by local roads from the surrounding municipalities.
- Setting: Sits on the shore of Lake Ringsjön with formal gardens and parkland immediately adjacent to the castle buildings.
- Visitor access: Many parts of the site are open to the public seasonally for visits, events and a small on-site café.
