How to Get to Borjomi#
Borjomi is reached most easily from Tbilisi International Airport (TBS) with onward train or marshrutka connections; Borjomi railway station is on a scenic regional line from Tbilisi. Kutaisi can be used but requires longer ground travel.
Tbilisi International Airport (TBS): The main airport for reaching Borjomi; from TBS take a taxi to Borjomi (approx. 120-160 GEL, ~2.5 hours) or travel into Tbilisi city and catch a marshrutka or train (see By Train & Bus).
Kutaisi International Airport (KUT): Flights into Kutaisi are an option; from Kutaisi you’ll usually take a bus or shared minibus to Borjomi via Akhaltsikhe or via Tbilisi connections - expect longer overall travel times (3-4+ hours).
Train: Borjomi has a small railway station (Borjomi railway station) on the Akhaltsikhe-Tbilisi regional line with picturesque routes; trains run from Tbilisi and take roughly 2-3 hours depending on service.
Bus / Marshrutka: Regular marshrutkas depart Tbilisi (Didube) to Borjomi; journey time about 2-2.5 hours and fares are low. Buses run from regional hubs as well, useful if you arrive via Kutaisi or Batumi with transfers.

Borjomi is best reached by train for comfort or marshrutka for speed from Tbilisi. Once there, walking and short taxi rides handle most local needs, while a rental car helps explore the wider national-park area.

- Marshrutka / Bus (6-15 GEL) - Frequent marshrutkas run from Didube station in Tbilisi and are the quickest budget option. Buses and coaches also operate from regional centres; pick a coach for more luggage room on longer runs. Tickets bought at station counters or from drivers.
- Taxi (5-120 GEL) - Useful for direct transfers from the airport or for short trips within the Borjomi municipal area. Taxis are easy to find near the park and springs; agree a fare before starting longer trips to nearby sites.
- Car hire (60-130 GEL/day) - Renting a car makes exploring surrounding protected areas and small villages straightforward. Local roads into the national park and valleys are generally passable; GPS and winter tyres are recommended in cold months.
