Bořeň is an isolated phonolitic hill in the Ústí nad Labem Region with marked hiking trails and a local quarry; visitors climb for views and short hikes.
Bořeň is a prominent basalt hill in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic, notable for its steep rocky slopes and isolated silhouette. The hill is a locally important natural landmark and is protected for its geological and landscape value.
Walking tracks lead to viewpoints on and around the hill and the rock faces and ridgelines are used for short local hikes. The summit area gives panoramic views over the surrounding plain and nearby towns.
The formation is a volcanic plug or basalt outcrop rising from the surrounding lowlands near the town of Bílina in northwestern Bohemia. It is reachable by local roads from the surrounding municipalities.

How to Get to Bořeň #
Drive from the town of Bílina or Teplice and follow local roads toward the village of Ústí nad Labem-north approaches. There are signed parking spots near the main trailheads; from there the summit is a hike of under an hour on marked paths.

- Climb the main ridge early in the morning to catch the light on the basalt cliffs - it brings out the rock's subtle striations.
- The summit plateau can be windy; the old quarry faces make for dramatic photos but heed safety signs and keep clear of loose edges.
