For years, Chiang Mai was northern Thailand’s adventure-sport capital, offering white-water rafting, rock climbing and bungee jumping as half- or full-day activities, while Chiang Rai offered only multi-day treks.

This adventure park, a couple of kilometres from town and shaped like a boomerang (hence the name), brings short-term thrills within reach, with rock climbing and zip-lining and plans for more activities in future. It sits at the base of a steep limestone hill, so there are climbing routes for both beginners and the more experienced.

There is no accommodation on site, though camping in the park has been possible. Check that the park is still operating before you go.
