Altiplano & Lake Titicaca (La Paz, El Alto, Uyuni, Potosí)

June brings the clearest skies and the coldest nights of the year; mountain passes and rural settlements can experience frost and occasional snowfall on higher peaks. La Paz and El Alto are cool by day and very cold after sunset; thermal layers, strong sun protection, and sturdy footwear are essential. This is prime season for dry, dust-free views of the Cordillera Real and for safe, predictable access to high attractions like Chacaltaya (viewing only).

Inter‑Andean Valleys (Cochabamba, Sucre, Tarija)

June brings some of the clearest, sunniest conditions of the year with daytime warmth and cool nights; this is prime time for trekking in the surrounding hills. Sucre’s heritage architecture is very pleasant to explore without rain interruptions, and Cochabamba’s open markets are busy with local produce. Expect bright UV and dry air-sunscreen, lip balm and a light fleece for evenings are advisable.

Yungas & Cloud Forest Slopes (Coroico, La Cumbre, Caranavi)

June turns the cloud forest cooler and generally dry; mornings can be brisk at higher passes near La Cumbre while lower river valleys stay warm and humid. This is the best window for reliable hiking on the slopes and for combining a trip from La Paz with cloud‑forest lodges without the risk of heavy rain. Packing a warm layer for early mornings and a light rain shell for unexpected showers is still wise.

Amazon Basin & Beni Pampas (Rurrenabaque, Trinidad, Guayaramerín)

June offers low rivers, easier overland access and the best conditions for walking safaris and wildlife hides in the pampas-boots and sunhat are essentials. Rurrenabaque is at one of its most convenient points for lodge transfers by road and boat, and heat is warm but less oppressive than in the wet season. Expect fewer mosquitoes, clearer skies, and simpler logistics for visiting remote reserves.

Santa Cruz Lowlands & Gran Chaco (Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Sama Valley, Yacuíba)

June brings the driest, sunniest conditions of the year for the lowlands with warm days and cool nights-very comfortable for trekking and visiting nature reserves. Road surfaces firm up and boat access to certain wetlands is reduced, but overland safaris become faster and more reliable. Travelers should expect fewer insects and clearer skies-ideal for extended outdoor activities and photography.
