Benin’s main air entry point is Cotonou Cadjehoun International Airport (COO), the country’s primary gateway and its only international airport with scheduled commercial service. Arriving in Cotonou also puts you in Benin’s economic hub and a key base for the busy Coastal South, with onward connections by road to places like Ouidah, Porto-Novo, Abomey-Calavi, and the lagoon village of Ganvie on Lake Nokoué.
Outside Cotonou, scheduled flights are limited to one domestic airport: Parakou Tourou International Airport, serving Parakou, one of Benin’s top cities and a stepping stone toward destinations in the Central Plateau and farther north, including Natitingou and Pendjari National Park. With only two airports offering scheduled service, domestic flying plays a small role compared with traveling overland, including entries from Togo or Nigeria and road travel between regions.
