Basilica of the Holy Trinity (Fátima)

The Basilica of the Holy Trinity (Basílica da Santíssima Trindade) is a modern Catholic basilica within the Sanctuary of Fátima in the Santarém District of Portugal, consecrated in 2007.

Part of the larger sanctuary complex, the basilica provides seating for roughly 8,000 worshippers and is used for large liturgies and pilgrim gatherings; it stands adjacent to the older Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary and the sanctuary esplanade. The building is noted for its contemporary design and for serving as a principal indoor worship space within one of the most visited Marian pilgrimage sites in the world.

Commissioned to handle growing numbers of pilgrims, the church was designed by Greek architect Alexandros Tombazis and completed in the early 21st century. It functions primarily as a place for communal liturgy, reconciliation and large-scale devotion tied to the Marian apparitions associated with Fátima.

The basilica sits in the town of Fátima in central Portugal, within the Sanctuary grounds in the municipality of Ourém; the town is roughly 125 km north of Lisbon by road and is surrounded by the agricultural plain of the Santarém district.
