How to Get to Bansang
Bansang is inland on the Gambia River and is normally reached by road from Banjul International Airport (BJL). Public transport consists of intercity buses and shared taxis; expect a long overland journey.
Banjul International Airport (BJL): Banjul is the main international airport for The Gambia. From BJL to Bansang expect a multi-hour road transfer (about 3-4 hours) by car or shared taxi; travel times and costs vary with season and road conditions.
Regional airports: Small regional airstrips exist in neighbouring countries (e.g., Ziguinchor in Senegal) but for international visitors Banjul is the practical arrival point for Bansang travel.
Train: There is no passenger rail service in The Gambia.
