How to Get to Bangangté
Bangangté is reached by road from Cameroon's major cities (Douala, Yaoundé and Bamenda); there is no direct air or rail service into the town. Expect several hours of overland travel by coach or shared taxi.
Yaoundé Nsimalen Airport (NSI) / Douala International Airport (DLA): Bangangté has no commercial airport; international flights come into Yaoundé or Douala. From either city you travel overland to Bangangté by bus or private vehicle; travel time from Yaoundé is several hours and from Douala longer.
Regional airports (e.g., Bamenda): Bamenda and other regional airports are closer depending on routing, but schedules are limited and overland transfers are still required to reach Bangangté. Many travellers prefer to make the trip entirely by road from Douala or Yaoundé.
Train: Cameroon’s rail network does not provide service to Bangangté; rail is not a practical option.
Bus/Taxi (bush taxis): Long-distance buses and shared taxis depart Douala, Yaoundé and Bamenda for Bangangté. These overland journeys typically take several hours; minibuses and bush taxis are common and inexpensive but can be crowded.
