How to Get to Balaclava, Jamaica

Balaclava is best reached via Jamaica's main international airports in Montego Bay (MBJ) or Kingston (KIN). There is no passenger rail service; buses and minibuses (coasters/route taxis) and private transfers handle most onward travel.

By Air

Sangster International Airport (MBJ): Sangster in Montego Bay is the closest major international airport for western Jamaica. By road to Balaclava expect about 1.5-2.5 hours depending on traffic; private taxis and prebooked transfers typically cost about US$40-80 and local route taxis/coasters are much cheaper (see train & bus card).

Norman Manley International Airport (KIN): Norman Manley in Kingston is another arrival option if you fly into eastern Jamaica. Road travel to Balaclava is longer (around 2-3.5 hours). Private transfers/taxis from Kingston are commonly US$60-120 depending on vehicle and number of passengers.
