Avshalom Cave, commonly referred to as Soreq Cave, is a limestone show cave in the Judean Hills of Israel. It is noted for dense calcite formations including stalactites and stalagmites in a large accessible chamber.
Inside the cave visitors follow a paved path and view illuminated formations and calcite curtains; the site is managed as a nature reserve with infrastructure for public visits. The cave is a major local attraction for its geological formations and easy access.
The cave is a natural karst feature formed by dissolution of limestone; it later received protective designation to manage visitor access and conserve the speleothems. Infrastructure such as walkways and lighting was installed to allow public touring while protecting formations.
The cave is located in the Judean Hills west of Jerusalem, near the town of Beit Shemesh, within the Jerusalem District.
