Atokos is a small, uninhabited island in the Ionian Sea, administratively in the Ionian Islands region of Greece. It is noted for its remote character and sheltered anchorages.
The island offers sheltered bays and rocky coastline used by recreational sailors and day visitors; there are no tourist facilities or permanent population. Visitors typically anchor offshore and go ashore briefly to explore.
There is little evidence of sustained permanent settlement and the island has been used mainly for grazing and transient use. Human impact is limited compared with larger inhabited Ionian islands.
Atokos lies in the central Ionian Sea, to the west of the Greek mainland and in the vicinity of Ithaca and Lefkada. Access is by private boat from nearby islands on the Ionian cruising routes.
