Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium was a multipurpose sports stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, that opened in 1965 and served as the home of the Atlanta Braves (Major League Baseball) and the Atlanta Falcons (National Football League) during its working life. The stadium was one of the large municipal venues of its era and was demolished in 1997.
The stadium was built for both baseball and American football with substantially larger seating for football than for baseball; during its use it hosted professional baseball and football seasons and large civic events. Its dual-purpose design influenced sightlines and seating arrangements typical of mid-century multipurpose stadia.
Constructed by Fulton County and the City of Atlanta in the mid-1960s, the stadium opened in 1965, hosted baseball and football through the 1960s to 1990s, and was vacated and demolished after the teams relocated to more modern facilities in the 1990s.
The stadium was located in downtown Atlanta within Fulton County, close to the central business district and transport links; the site was later redeveloped following demolition.
