Atlanta Botanical Garden

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a roughly 30-acre public botanical garden in Midtown Atlanta adjacent to Piedmont Park, focusing on plant collections, public displays and education. It includes both outdoor themed gardens and a large glass conservatory that supports tropical and desert collections.

The conservatory with its year-round displays, permanent and rotating plant collections such as orchids, themed outdoor gardens, a children’s garden, and an elevated canopy walk through a forested ravine. The garden stages seasonal exhibitions and events throughout the year and runs educational programs for schools and families.

The garden was established as a civic botanical institution in the later 20th century and has expanded its plant collections, facilities and public programming over several decades. Major additions over time have included conservatory improvements, themed garden areas and the canopy walk to increase visitor access to the forest canopy.

The site sits in Midtown Atlanta beside Piedmont Park and within walking distance of cultural venues and Midtown transit; it is a short trip from downtown Atlanta and is commonly accessed by car or public transit from the city center.
