How to Get to Asosa
Asosa is normally reached by short domestic flights from Addis Ababa when available; overland bus travel is possible but slow. Within town taxis and walking cover most short trips.
Asosa Airport (ASO): Asosa has a small regional airport with flights to Addis Ababa operated intermittently by Ethiopian Airlines or regional carriers. Flights take about 1-1.5 hours from Addis Ababa Bole (ADD). From Asosa airport to town centre taxis take 10-20 minutes; expect to pay in local currency and confirm fare in advance.
Addis Ababa Bole International (ADD): International visitors normally fly into Addis Ababa; the overland trip to Asosa by road is long (often two days depending on route and stops) so most travellers use domestic flights when available.
