Armenian Cathedral of Lviv is a historic Armenian church in Lviv, founded by the local Armenian community in the medieval period and later rebuilt. It forms part of the historic center of Lviv.

The site comprises the church building, a courtyard and ancillary structures with Armenian funerary slabs and inscriptions; the interior contains painted decoration and embroidered liturgical textiles associated with the Armenian rite. The cathedral is valued for its distinctive architectural features that blend Armenian and local Western Ukrainian elements.

Established by the Armenian community of Lviv in the medieval era, the cathedral was rebuilt and adapted in later centuries as the community’s needs and liturgical affiliations changed. It has served various Armenian Christian rites across its history and has been preserved as part of Lviv’s multiethnic religious heritage.

Set within Lviv’s Old Town, the cathedral sits on Armenian Street in the centre of the city and is included in the broader historic urban area.

The Armenian Cathedral of Lviv is in Lviv’s Old Town near Rynok (Market) Square on Armenian Street. From Lviv Railway Station the cathedral is roughly 2 km south of the station (about 25-30 minutes on foot) or a short local bus/tram or taxi ride to Rynok Square, from which the cathedral is a few minutes’ walk.

The Old Town streets are pedestrianised; if driving, drop off near Rynok Square and use the narrow historic streets on foot.

• Visit early in the morning on a weekday to avoid tour groups and to experience the interior frescoes and iconostasis with fewer people present.
• Enter via Armenian (Armenianska) Street - the cathedral's entrance and small courtyard are off the main square and are often missed by visitors who stick to Rynok (Market) Square.
• Check service times before you go; the cathedral is an active church and some areas or the museum displays may be closed to tourists during liturgies or special services.
