Araure (part of the Acarigua-Araure urban area) is a road-connected city in Portuguesa state; most travelers arrive by road from regional airports or by long-distance bus. Domestic aviation and bus services are operational but subject to frequent schedule and price changes.
Valencia (VLN) / Barquisimeto (BRM) / Caracas (CCS): Araure (near Acarigua) does not have a major international airport; arrivals typically use nearby airports such as Barquisimeto (Jacinto Lara - BRM) or Valencia (VLN) for domestic/international connections, or Caracas (CCS) for major international flights. From Barquisimeto or Valencia, road transfer to Araure takes about 1-3 hours depending on origin and traffic; taxi or private transfer costs vary widely.
Local regional air services: Domestic/regional flights in Venezuela are subject to change - confirm schedules with local carriers before travel.
Train: Venezuela’s national passenger rail network has limited long-distance services and does not serve Araure directly.
