Hamrun is very close to Malta International Airport and is easily reached by taxi or the Tallinja bus network. There is no rail network on Malta, so buses, taxis and walking are the main ways to get around.

By Air

Malta International Airport (MLA): Hamrun (Ħamrun) is a short drive from Malta International Airport in Luqa. A taxi from MLA to Hamrun takes roughly 10-15 minutes and costs around €10-€15; public buses require a transfer in some cases and take about 20-30 minutes depending on route.

Other connections: All international flights to Malta arrive at MLA; onward travel to Hamrun is entirely by road (taxi, bus, rental car).

By Train & Bus

Train: There is no train service in Malta.

Bus: Malta Public Transport buses serve Hamrun with frequent services to Valletta, Ħamrun’s neighbouring towns and the airport. A Tallinja card gives the best fares (around €2 per journey); buses are the primary cheap public option though can be slower than taxis at peak times.
