How to Get to Amden
Amden sits above the Walensee and is best reached via the regional rail hubs of Ziegelbrücke or Mols and then a PostBus climb into the village. The combination of SBB trains plus PostBus provides reliable, scenic access; driving is straightforward but parking can be limited in peak season.
Zurich Airport (ZRH): The main international gateway for the Canton of St. Gallen. From Zurich Airport take a direct train to Ziegelbrücke or to Rapperswil and then a local connection toward Amden; total rail travel to the Amden area is about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes depending on connections. Train fares Zurich-Ziegelbrücke are roughly CHF 20-CHF 35 (2nd class).
St. Gallen-Altenrhein Airport (ACH): A smaller regional airport serving some seasonal and business routes. From Altenrhein you need to continue by taxi or regional bus/train (to Rorschach or St. Gallen) then local bus to Amden; total travel time is typically 1-1.5 hours, taxi and bus combinations vary in price (approx.
