How to Get to Amagi Sanmyaku #
By rail: Take the JR Tokaido Line to Atami or the Izukyu Line to Shuzenji; from either station hire a car or take local buses toward Amagi Pass (look for signs to Amagi-tōge). By road: the Izu-Jūkan and local prefectural roads connect the peninsula-Route 11 and smaller mountain roads climb to the pass. Cycling is common on the established pass routes.
Tips for Visiting Amagi Sanmyaku #
- Start early at the Amagi Pass to avoid weekend drivers and crowds from nearby Shimoda and Atami.
- If driving, use Route 11 (Izu-Jūkan Road) on the Izu Peninsula and look for signs to Amagi-tōge (Amagi Pass).
- Pack for sudden weather changes-Amagi's microclimate can drop temperature and fog in an hour.
