Altıntepe is an archaeological fortress-temple site in Erzincan Province, eastern Turkey, associated with the kingdom of Urartu. The site dates to the early 1st millennium BCE and preserves both defensive and religious architecture.
Walkable remains include fortified walls and the elevated citadel mound, alongside excavated tombs and a small on-site museum displaying pottery, metalwork and inscribed fragments. The visible architecture illustrates Urartian construction techniques and a temple complex layout.
Constructed and used during the Urartian period, the site functioned as a regional stronghold and religious centre in the 9th to 7th centuries BCE. Systematic archaeological work in the 20th century exposed the citadel plan, tombs and finds now conserved at the site.
