Ali Qapu is a grand gateway palace on the western side of Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan, Iran, constructed during the Safavid period. The structure functioned as a ceremonial entrance and royal reception building overlooking the square.
The building comprises multiple floors with an elevated hall used for music and reception, noted for ornamental interior detail and acoustic design. A high terrace on the upper level offered the Safavid court views over the square and royal ceremonies.
The palace dates from the early 17th century, built under Shah Abbas I as part of the ensemble of buildings around Naqsh-e Jahan Square, and has been preserved as part of the historic core of Isfahan. Decorative finishes and some interior features reflect Safavid-period courtly architecture.
Ali Qapu stands on the west side of Naqsh-e Jahan Square in central Isfahan, within the historic urban centre that is recognised for its concentration of Safavid monuments.
